FREE JENNIFER PETITION

Campaign for Jennifer Mee’s freedom
Jennifer Mee was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole after being involved in a fatal robbery with two other associates.
She arranged to meet a young man for a date after they met through Facebook however, her motive was robbery. Her male friends carried out the mugging but in the process, a scuffle followed with one of the young men shooting the victim.
Jennifer, it is understood was not even at the scene of the robbery.
She never even intended for this to happen..
In Florida, all participants in a fatal robbery are equally charged with murder.
The severity of the sentence has shocked a lot of people and the question should really be asked "How does this compare with other cases of murder?"
One just needs to read the newspapers or watch television to know there are some horrific cases.
The judge had the opportunity to use his discretion here so why didn't he?
one wrong + one wrong = one right?
Just locking up people for life is a cop out; it is a waste of human life. It is saying to those who have offended, you have no value as a human being and are being excluded from society forever.
Some may say, "Oh, but a murderer has deprived someone else of their life."
To that I say, "Two wrongs do not make a right!"
You cannot cancel out one wrong with another wrong!
Does America really have a justice system or would a more appropriate name be "The American revenge system."
The harsh sentences handed out to some of the offender's shows how little America values a human life.
It also shows how much or rather how little empathy the justice system has for people.
Many of those in American prisons sentenced to life were sentenced as teenagers; they would with time and maturity on their side would have reflected on what they have done and felt some sympathy with their victim's family.
Have you not done some stupid stuff when you were young?
Give these people an opportunity to become a member of society again, they have so much to contribute.
My involvement
It was in late 2018 that I watched a TV program by Piers Morgan; it was called, "Women who kill," and this particular program featured Jennifer Mee. My reaction after watching the program was, "This is not right." I then contacted Jennifer soon after with my thoughts on the case and wrote to a couple of Florida newspapers but do not know if they were published.
I have organised a petition for Jennifer which you can sign below;
